Construction of the new Leythenrode residential care center officially began in the summer of 2023! In June, in the presence of many residents of the current building and the entire design and construction team, Mayor of Leiderdorp Laila Driessen, board member of Alrijne healthcare group Ivo van der Klei, and client council spokesperson Bob Reidsma officially initiated the construction of the new Leythenrode. Throughout the construction process, residents will receive regular explanations and guided tours to make the construction period a festive and interesting experience. Living groups with real apartments situated along ‘wandering corridors’ leading to communal areas with large terraces overlooking green spaces, a public internal shopping street with an events plaza, and three large glass greenhouses are the visible manifestations of this principle, which has already proven its value at the Zuidoever by Cordaan (Amsterdam Kop Zuidas). Completion is expected around mid-2026.
